SolFaction launches updated version of the NederLux Solar Pro acrylic collection in collaboration with Sauleda

SolFaction is launching an updated version of the NederLux Solar Pro acrylic collection in collaboration with Sauleda. Since the introduction of its own in-house collection — at the time still under the name Guillaume Janssen — much has changed. The confection divisions of Guillaume Janssen have since merged with NederLux under the new name SolFaction. Jos Stoit: “The collaboration within SolFaction brings us so much new energy that we can continue to take new steps moving forward.” Meanwhile, Sauleda from Barcelona (Spain) has also updated its collections and launched many beautiful new designs. In addition, all fabrics are now coated with a PFAS-free coating (Sauleda Fabric Protector), which makes them more resistant to water, mildew, dirt and UV. Most colours from the previous collection can also be found in the new collection; a total of seven colours have been phased out by Sauleda and are no longer available. Bram Plattel: “The NederLux Solar Pro acrylic collection is a balanced selection of designs, including a number of beautiful modern colours taken from the Sauleda Mediterraneo collection. All Sauleda fabrics are now completely PFAS-free, and we therefore process them entirely without PFAS-containing materials.” Klaas-Jan Postma: “NederLux Collections will continue to expand its in-house collections alongside the already well-known polyester fabrics from Swela.”

Guillaume Janssen and SolFaction enter exclusive partnership with Plastex for the Benelux

Guillaume Janssen and SolFaction have entered into an exclusive partnership for the Benelux with the Swiss company Plastex SA, a specialist in high-quality plastic components for sun shading. This collaboration brings several innovative systems to the Benelux, including the ClipZip internal rail system, the Aviasta top tube profile, the Aviasta Ultra bottom bar and the Boba+ components for screens. With this expansion, the product range in the region will be further strengthened — under a new name, which will be officially launched at a later stage. Ruben de Jong: “We have been very satisfied for years with the high quality of fabrics in our in-house collections. With the Boba+ bottom rail from Plastex, we can now finish screen fabrics more beautifully and much more easily.”

NederLux Solar Screen collection expanded with 12 new sergé colours!

In addition to the updated acrylic collection, the screen fabric collection has also been revised. Due to great demand, no fewer than 12 new colours have been added, available immediately. In total, the Sergé collection now consists of 22 colours. “This expansion offers even more choice within the high-quality, dimensionally stable fabric known for its matte, stylish finish and non-fraying technology, which prevents fraying during cutting.” These screen fabrics are available confectioned, or by the roll or cut length, from SolFaction. Klaas-Jan Postma: “As a reliable partner in the sun shading industry, SolFaction aims to offer sustainable, high-quality and customer-oriented solutions for the growing demand for effective sun shading. As a universal and independent fabric supplier, SolFaction wants to offer customers the widest possible product range.”

NederLux and Guillaume Janssen’s confection divisions join forces in the solar shading industry under a new name: SolFaction

The confection divisions of Guillaume Janssen and NederLux have officially merged and will continue together as SolFaction. Led by owners Klaas-Jan Postma (NederLux) and Jos Stoit (Guillaume Janssen), this marks the emergence of a strong new player in the solar shading industry. SolFaction focuses on both roll and cut-to-size sales of fabrics, as well as the confection of high-quality solar shading fabrics. Together, they form a very strong independent confection company with the largest range of solar shading fabrics: from recycled PET bottles and standard acrylic to various Serge and Soltis® collections, and even fabrics for indoor shading solutions.

The merger is driven by the ambition to work more efficiently and innovatively together while further improving product quality and availability for customers. SolFaction not only offers benefits for customers and partners but also for employees and the future of the solar shading industry.

Benefits for Customers and Partners

The establishment of SolFaction brings significant advantages:

About the Owners

Klaas-Jan Postma, the driving force behind NederLux, has extensive experience in the solar shading industry and is renowned for his customer focus and craftsmanship. Jos Stoit, owner of Guillaume Janssen, specializes in high-quality solar shading confection and delivers bespoke solutions at the highest level. Both are highly enthusiastic about the opportunities SolFaction offers to elevate the sector and work on innovative solutions for the future of solar shading. With SolFaction, Klaas-Jan Postma and Jos Stoit aim not only to strengthen their field but also to build a better future for the solar shading industry in the Netherlands and beyond.

About SolFaction

SolFaction strives to be a reliable partner in the solar shading industry, offering sustainable, high-quality, and customer-focused solutions to meet the growing demand for effective solar shading. The merger enables the company to remain a leader in quality and flexibility, with a mission to provide an excellent experience for both customers and employees.

Solarshading manufacturer strengthens role as independent fabric maker

After launching an acrylic fabric collection, Guillaume Janssen – a producer of innovative solar shading systems and fabric maker – introduced its own screen fabric collection last year. This collection has been so well-received in the solar shading market that the range is now being expanded. “This further strengthens our role as an independent fabric maker,” says account manager Ruben de Jong.

As a leading independent fabric maker, Guillaume Janssen has stocked screen and acrylic fabric collections from Europe’s top solar shading suppliers for over 40 years. Recently, the company invested in an additional sealing machine for the confection of its various screen fabric collections. “We are actively working on expanding our new Sergé screen fabric collection, marketed under the name GJ – Solar Screen Collection,” Ruben explains. “By 2025, the variety of colors will grow from 10 to 23. In addition to Sergé designs, the collection also includes 10 Soltis Veozip designs. These fabrics stand out due to the advanced Smart Yarn Technology, which minimizes rippling and adds extra durability to the fabric.”

Air-Purifying Fabric

Guillaume Janssen’s unique fabric collections are divided into several categories. “This allows us to supply the entire solar shading industry with the right type of fabric,” Ruben clarifies. One such category is the GJ-Solar Pro Collection, which features the Sauleda Green by Guillaume Janssen fabric. “This is the first sunshade fabric that purifies the air through photocatalysis. This coating also makes the fabric significantly more resistant to dirt and staining. With this revolutionary fabric, we recently completed an exciting replacement project in Amsterdam in collaboration with our client, with a focus on eco-friendliness and sustainability.”

Soltis Tour

Since 2000, Guillaume Janssen has established its name in the European international market as a producer of innovative solar shading systems. On February 14, 2025, businesses from across the sunshade industry will have the opportunity to learn more about the Zwolle-based company. “On that day, the European roadshow of our supplier Serge Ferrari will visit our premises, showcasing the SOLTIS® brand to professionals in two showroom trucks,” says Ruben. “We will also offer visitors the chance to explore our model showroom and workshop in Zwolle. We warmly invite everyone to come and view our new collections or visit our updated website at gjbv.nl.”

Special interior solar shading are iconic both domestically and internationally

Since 2000, Guillaume Janssen has established its name in the European and international markets as a producer of unique solar shading systems. Both as a fabric manufacturer and a system supplier, the company has been closely involved in various iconic projects both domestically and internationally.

In recent years, Paleis Het Loo underwent an extensive renovation. "During this process, the solar shading systems also had to be renewed" says Bram Plattel, Sales & Marketing Manager at Guillaume Janssen. "As part of this project, we manufactured more than 20 unique solar shading systems from our GJ – MW Series."

Paleis Het Loo is one of many projects in a series of (inter)national ventures where Guillaume Janssen has made his mark as a project supplier of unique, unconventional solar shading systems. "We primarily come into play when architects design buildings with large glass facades and distinctive architecture. This includes museums and football stadiums, but also modern office buildings and homes," says Bram.

As a prime example of such a project in the Netherlands, he mentions the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam: "In collaboration with the solar shading company De Haan Westerhoff, we implemented a curved screen solution to optimally darken several facades. This is necessary to minimize the exposure of the artworks in the depot to UV radiation."

For 'The Pulse,' a prestigious project in the Zuidas area of Amsterdam, Guillaume Janssen manufactured more than 600 metallized and SMI motorized zip screens, installed at various angles. "In this project we closely collaborated with a partner: Gevex Professional solar shading," says Bram. "This is the direction we're increasingly heading towards—collaborating with dedicated partners where expertise in measurement, installation, and maintenance is ensured."

In the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, a curved screen solution has been implemented.

New York's museum

With its remarkable solar shading systems, Guillaume Janssen has also made a name for itself beyond the country's borders, particularly in the museum world. For a project at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York—one of the world’s largest and most prestigious art museums—the company from Zwolle collaborated with the American solar shading specialist Draper. Bram explains, “For the Rockefeller Wall, as the southern wing of this museum is called, we developed and supplied unique bottom-up running ZIP systems.”

In any case, where other solar shading companies have to say 'no,' the challenge only begins for Guillaume Janssen. This was also the case with a project for the World Trade Center in Rotterdam. “For this project, we supplied elongated systems that run at an angle, with a significant projection of up to 12.5 meters in length.”

More information about our unique sunshade projects can be found on the projects page of our website.

Guillaume Janssen at the R+T 2024

After an absence of 6 years since the last edition of the R+T in Stuttgart, the 2024 edition provided us a fantastic opportunity to present our new corporate identity. With a completely redesigned booth in our new corporate style, we traveled to Stuttgart.

At our booth, products from our range of special sun protection systems were on display, including screens from our GJ - SZ Curved and GJ - MW Angular series. In addition to our own screens, we had another eye-catcher, a retractable arm awning. This was a collaboration between Soons Zonwering and Guillaume Janssen. The retractable arm awning was manufactured by Soons Zonwering and we produced a tailored fabric from our own GJ - Solar Pro Collection, resulting in a stunning outcome.

At the fair, we introduced our new GJ - Solar Screen Collection, a new collection consisting of Sergé screen fabrics and Soltis Veozip fabrics, which was warmly received by our visitors. We also distributed beautiful bags to visitors of our booth as a token of appreciation. These bags were made and designed by our own production department and produced using leftover materials.

We look back with pride on a very successful and fruitful week, and we are already looking forward to the next edition of the R+T!
